The CooKit system is among the simplest looking solar oven set ups, and also the cheapest to distribute. Because it?s very inexpensive it?s used extensively in African countries to pasteurize water. The CooKit was actually developed and produced for that very use, however it can also be of use for families in the First World. All the system requires is a dark, covered pot and a plastic bag like the ones you get at the grocery store (these will last for one day, if you want something with more durability you can also purchase a high-temperature plastic bag that will last for about a month). These supplies, and a few hours of sunlight are all it takes to cook a meal in a CooKit system for a family of five or six. The system is foldable as well, so it's very easy to transport.
