Solar HotPot

The HotPot  is one of the newest solar cooking technologies. It was developed by the U.S. non-governmental organization Solar Household Energy, Inc. The HotPot is, basically, a dark pot, suspended inside a clear one with a lid. Although this system is very similar to a solar cooker, it has the advantage of providing a more even heat, because the rounded edges of the bowl collect more light than the box of a solar box cooker. Also, heat is collected through the clear bottom of the pot. You may also see right through the lid of the cooker to watch the food cooking below. That way, you can tell how far along your food is, while maintaining a low-maintenance cooking regime as the food cooks over a few hours at a low temperature, similar to other solar oven technologies.
