Solar Powered Kettles
Solar kettles are not what you'd expect when you think of your average kettle. They aren't covered in your grandmother's knitted kettle warmers. They are similar though, in that they use energy to boil water. In the case of the solar kettle, however, unlike the conventional kettle, it's solar energy alone that's used to bring the water to a boil. This technology is clean,
environmentally friendly, and very useful.
In general, it is vacuum solar glass tube technology that's used to capture and store sunlight which then powers the solar kettle. Because solar kettles tend to get hotter than solar ovens, they too can be used for cooking. Also, because they run on accumulated energy from the sun, they store energy for longer and can continue to work longer than say a solar box oven
might. Because they can be used to heat both water and food, they are very useful, whether you're barbequing in the backyard, camping, or living in a rural area.
