Not only does photovoltaic solar technology come in solar panel form, but it can also be discreetly disguised on a rooftop as shingles. Solar shingles are designed in the same manner as regular shingles, except that instead of just protecting the roof of your home, these flexible solar shingles can help to power your home!

Generally the material used to make the pv cells used in solar shingles is silicon mounted on stainless steel sheet metal, which is obviously very durable and appropriate for housing construction.
